Dale Gray has worked for the past 27 years on a variety of Federal, State and Local Government programs including work with the US Coast Guard, Border Patrol (CBP), BLM, DoD (Army, Navy) and several state (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico) and local agencies in system design, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). These programs included structural and civil engineering, environmental compliance (NEPA, SHPO, CEQA), logistics management, helicopter installations, and hybrid solar/wind/generator off grid sites.
Dale Gray has worked on the design and deployment of multiple solar sites from the desert Southwest Border to Northern Maine.
Our design includes analysis of equipment loads, days of autonomy needed, ability to have integrated power systems such as wind and generator to support the site and physical deployment of the systems. The systems have been as large as several hundred solar panels and over 10,000 Ah of battery storage capacity to small portable systems with four solar panels with two batteries to support a single repeater on skids. Our design includes work with the equipment provider to quantify radio system loads including duty cycle studies, standby and transmit loads, always on equipment such as microwave backhaul and routers. We also provide battery system designs (12, 24 and 48V systems) with integration into a “smart shelter” design with LED lights, DC fans, integrated DC generators and security systems.
Our team has built a variety of towers from 65 foot monopoles in town to large, hurricane resistant towers in remote areas.
Our team has constructed towers sites with helicopters, tracked vehicles to transport shelters and sites over 30 miles from the nearest paved road. We have the expertise to develop a deployment plan for sites from Alaska to the desert Southwest.
Working with Vertical Bridge, the GDS team has the technical and financial capability to deploy the sites your company or agency needs, where you want it to the design that meets your needs and specifications.
We are willing to not only build the tower but also include the shelter, generator and if appropriate decommission the existing tower. Our solution can be single tenant use (for secure sites) to multiple tenant facilities. We are also willing to work in the remote areas of the state to allow improved communication, LTE and internet access to the rural residents and agencies.

The key to good site reliability is the effective use of a comprehensive site maintenance program.
GDS management team has developed site maintenance solutions that are used for the maintenance on hundreds of mission critical towers across the United States. We use a tiered response solution that provides the majority of the site maintenance effort in a planned, periodic site visit solution. This process drives out cost while providing maintenance on the tower, shelter, HVAC, generator and battery storage system on an annual, semi-annual and as needed basis. Our emergency response tier provides a 4 hour response to replace / repair critical failures that have resulted in a site outage.
